Education
Marie-Astrid ORLANDO graduated with a Master’s degree in Law from the Université Catholique de Louvain in 2011. During her university studies, she specialised in liability law and insurance law. She also studied personal injury assessment and criminology, including forensic medicine. She had the opportunity to practise in these areas during several internships with lawyers specialised in those fields.
Career
Marie-Astrid ORLANDO was called to the French Brussels Bar in September 2011 and immediately joined the Paul MUYLAERT law firm.
She mainly focuses on insurance law and civil liability law (medical and other types of professional liability, common law liability, road traffic liability). In her cases, she deals with both liability aspects as well as personal injury assessment issues. She represents individuals and companies in all types of proceedings (civil, criminal and disciplinary).
In 2022, she became in charge of the medical law CAPA module.
Marie-Astrid ORLANDO has gotten her specialization in medical liability law and personal injury assessment in April 2023: she is recognized by the French Brussels Bar as a specialist in these two areas.
She handles cases in French and English.
